This page will be used throughout the year to communicate with families who have a student who is, has, or will be auditioning. As the year progresses we will also use it to communicate with families whose child has been placed at NWSA in the lottery. We also sometimes will get information from CMS that we would like to communicate. This is different than FAQ page.
2/13 Has your child been placed at NWSA in the lottery? Meaning they have passed an audition, you have entered the lottery, and you have received a letter sometime after January that states your child will be attending NWSA next year? IF so:
- Please fill out the following Google form. This will be used by the NWSA PTO to notify you of upcoming events and other information helpful for new families. The link is here: bit.ly/2ChlPSQ
- Class Registration will be on March 13 and April 12 from 3:00-6:30 in the Media Center. This is a drop-in event. If you arrive between 3:00 and 4:30 you will need to park in the student lot at the left hand side of the school. If you arrive after 4:30 you may park in the bus lot. Look for an email in the next few weeks with more details. You only need to come to one event. One more date will probably be scheduled if these dates are a problem.
2/8 If your child is interested in auditioning for NWSA, please submit an audition request as soon as possible. Most auditions will be in late March for the final lottery, which runs April 2. We will not have a clear picture of how many spaces we will have left in each grade/major for a month or so. Even if all spots are taken, there will be changes before next year as students move/change their mind. We expect space or short waiting lists in some majors, especially for 6th, 9th, and 12th grade. Instrumental music, including Piano, Band, and Orchestra has the most spots for 6th and 9th. What we DO know is there is no way for your child to get in if they do not audition!!!
1/27 If your child auditioned at any time and you do not have results, please email firstname.lastname@example.org . Don't forget to include your child's name. First Lottery result letters were mailed by CMS Student Placement in January. If your child applied in the first lottery, you should not re-apply for the second lottery, unless your preferences have changed. You should leave your application "as is." and it will roll automatically to the next lottery.
